Bethany United Methodist Church
Bethany has its roots in the past beginning in 1848. Methodism was the oldest known church on the Outer Banks and the first to bring Christianity to this part of North Carolina’s coast.
 
Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church
The Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church was established in 1824 as one of the oldest churches in Tyrrell County.
 
Christ Episcopal Church
Christ Episcopal Church, itself steeped in history, is located in one of the oldest settled areas of North Carolina.
 
Church of the Saviour and Cemetery

Clarks Bethel United Methodist Church
Built in 1886 and given the name Salvo Methodist Episcopal South. A beautiful little white building with mixed colored windows of beautiful glass.
 
Cool Spring Baptist Church
Organized September 17, 1828. It has been a place of worship in the Eure community for the last 182 years.
 
Corolla Chapel.
The local community in Corolla formed a congregation in 1885. Two carpenters built the original one room chapel. The chapel was in the Baptist Conference from 1885 to 1938.
 
Garysburg United Methodist Church
Built in 1849 and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. The church was used as a hospital during the Cival War. The cemetery lacated on the church grounds has Civil War grave markers.
 
Good Hope AME Zion
Built in 1886, shortly after the Civil War by the Reverend Andrew Cartwright, a dominate force in the movement of Zion Methodism. Rev. Cartwright was a missionary whose travels took him to Africa. The name Good Hope is derived from “Cape Good Hope.”
 
Hertford Baptist Church
The beginning of the Baptist Mission work in Hertford was started by the Bethel Church approximately 1817.  Early meetings were held in the courthouse in Hertford.
 
Hobgood County Church Museum
Built by a tavern owner to satisfy his wife’s desire for a “meeting house.” When Hobgood was incorporated and a lot donated for a Methodist Church, the church was moved by mules pulling it over logs a few feet each week. Sunday services were wherever the church happened to be that week.
 
McBride United Methodist Church
For nearly 300 years, generations have continued to whisper prayers and sing hymns of praise on this rural country church’s sacred grounds.
 
New Hope United Methodist Church

Rehoboth Church
Dates back to Skinnersville Chapel that served the community along the southern shore of the Albemarle Sound from 1785 to 1805. Special services are held periodically.
 
Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church
The original church building burned to the ground in 1864 as an indirect result of the Union occupation of Washington. Revolutionary and Civil War markers are in the cemetery.  
 
Sandy Point Baptist Church
The original Cashie Meeting House was built in 1716. The Sandy Point Baptist Church occupies this site.
 
Shiloh Baptist Church
Fast approaching the 300 year old mark, Shiloh Baptist Church is the oldest Baptist congregation in North Carolina.
 
Skewarkey Church
Founded around 1780 in Martin County and originally a branch of Flat Swamp Church, Skewarkey Church became a separate congregation in 1787.
 
St. Andrews Episcopal Church
This parish of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the United States was created in 1729 by an act of the General Assembly of North Carolina.
 
St. David’s Episcopal Church
The oldest remaining Episcopal Church in the area and its history is intertwined with that of Creswell and the surrounding countryside.
 
St. Georges Episcopal Church
Consecrated in 1878. See its original fourteen beautiful stained glass windows, primitive church pews and a magnificent Hinners Pipe Organ with 400 pipes.
 
St. Martin’s Episcopal Church
Established as a mission station in 1868, meeting at different locations in Hamilton. Admitted to the Episcopal Convention in 1873. Consecrated in 1882.  
 
St. Paul's Episcopal Church
Three centuries have elapsed since the organizing of St Paul’s Church. Remains a link with colonial days, welcomes all visitors and continues to serve as a house of worship for an active congregation.
 
St. Philips Episcopal Church
St. Philip’s Church began as a mission outreach of Christ Episcopal Church to serve the local African American community in the late 19th century.
