Aurora Fossil Museum
Free to all visitors.  Marine fossils and land mammals found along the Coastal Plain from 30 million through 10 thousand years ago.  Two buildings display fossils and a collection of minerals and gems.

Corolla Wild Horse Museum in the Corolla School House
Museum open year round Monday – Friday, 10AM to 4PM.  Fun educational activities for children offered in the summer including a gentled wild mustang to pet. No admission fee for museum and nominal fees for children's programs.
 
 
Corolla Wild Horses
For more than 400 years, the small, swift and sturdy Corolla Wild Horses have run free on the Currituck Outer Banks. These beautiful Spanish mustangs can still be seen roaming the beaches.
 
 
Currituck Beach Light Station
On the NC coast between the Cape Henry light to the north and Bodie Island to the south.  The lighthouse was automated in 1939 when the United States Coast Guard assumed the duties of theBureau of Light-Houses.
 
 
Currituck Beach Lighthouse
Climb the 214 steps to the top of the majestic, red brick lighthouse. First lit on December 1, 1875, the beacon filled the remaining "dark spot" on the North Carolina coast between Cape Henry and Bodie Island lighthouses.

Dismal Swamp State Park
