St. Thomas Episcopal

North Carolina's oldest town, oldest church, and once home to Blackbeard, Historic Bath on Bath Creek is a step back in time.

Historic Bath

Step back into a quieter, more peaceful place with a visit to Historic Bath. Founded in 1705, North Carolina's oldest incorporated town still retains much of its colonial charm. Take a walking tour of Bath's historic places along tree-lined streets overlooking Bath Creek. Tour the 1751 home of merchant Robert Palmer and the 1830 summer home of planter Joseph Bonner. Enjoy the beauty of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the oldest standing church in the state. Begin your visit at the Historic Bath Visitor Center, where you can view a complimentary orientation video and learn about the walking and guided building tours.
