On the National Register of Historic Places and located in Roper, NC. Visit this beautiful 1853 Greek Revival style church built of heart pine and cypress cut from nearby woods.
Constructed by slave carpenters of the Norman Family, Rehoboth has weathered the centuries virtually unchanged- see the literal "fingerprints in time" on the ceilings, which were sheathed shortly after the Civil War and bear the finger and handprints of the carpenters, presumably former slaves- possibly the same hands which built the structure. Visit Rehoboth's web site to learn more about this picturesque historic site and the restoration effort that is currently underway.
The church is open to visitors for fifth Sunday services held at 3 pm every month except November and December. It is open for tours by prior arrangement by contacting 252-793-4958.
