The Tunnell Farmhouse started out as the home of Isaiah and Eleanor Credle, where they raised six children in the early 1900s. The house was purchased by Gilbert "Gib" and Iberia Tunnell in 1966, and was used as a hunting lodge for several years. They entertained friends and guests there until Gib’s death in 1969. It was known then as The Seagull.
In 1975, Dick and Sandra Tunnell, current proprietors, came back to Swan Quarter, fresh out of college to take over the family farm which they still operate across the road from the Farmhouse.
